CWs and Opt-out

Clarissa's original universe is a fantastical, sprawling sci-fi scape within which a lot of silly and implausible things can happen. But the muse herself has weathered some (weird) shit and come out bearing a few mental and physical scars. These are the most plausibly upsetting themes liable to come up in her dialogue or narration. (If you're looking for her general permissions post instead, it's over here).

Alcoholism: Clarissa is a recovering alcoholic. It's uncommon for her to mention it in conversation, but the topic may come up in her narration since her addiction is still very much lodged at the back of her mind. My narration may be jokey at times: I understand that might potentially be upsetting to some people given the seriousness of the issue. It's certainly a serious problem for Clarissa, but a slightly twisted humour is a part of her personality and how she handles her issues.

Derealisation, hallucinations, multiple personality: Clarissa holds two "selves" inside of her, one in her organic brain and one in her electronic implants, and the personality that lives in Clarissa's hardware (that hates her guts, just fyi) induces hallucinations in order to psychologically torment her. Add to the fact that Clarissa's actual mental health is just bad, bad, bad...she goes through some rocky times now and again, and has a well-earned phobia of mirrors.

Abuse, (non-sexual) grooming, psychological torture: Through her teens and far into her adult years, Clarissa was trained as a soldier for a major galactic crime syndicate. The love of the man who positioned himself as a surrogate father figure in her life was conditional based on her performance, and his instruction was frequently violent. She was also punished through self-confinement and has a strong reaction to being locked within a closed space.

Gender dysphoria: Clarissa has some Gender Feels that she is pointedly ignoring. It's not something she's likely to open up about any time soon, but you never know.

Sexual assault: Clarissa is a survivor but this will never come up without prior OOC discussion. In the unlikely event that it's addressed in RP it will happen in a private log, clearly marked and under a cut.

Please comment to this post and let me know if you would rather I avoid certain topics within our threads and OOC discussions, or if you want to opt-out of playing with Clarissa entirely. All comments are screened. I can promise that Clarissa isn't all that tragic or edgy a character in spite of her baggage--her priorities are her pet-projects and it's difficult to get her to open up on anything too personal without ample time earning her trust and gently coaxing her to confide in you. She's an encrypted SSD, not an open book, so as long as I'm aware to avoid certain topics in our interactions then everything should be just BASIC. ;^)
